Breakfast in Locanda Al Moro Hotel
The hotel is extremely close to the main Sciacca square at the centre 'Piazza Angelo Scandaliato'. Various shops surrounding the area (OVS, Benetton, book shops, souvenir shops. Grocery shops nearby and also Euro Saving shops - which had very cheap and affordable drinks (ex. water 50c or 60c/ beer 1.50eur). The hotel staff was so lovely, they were extremely helpful in guiding us when it came to taxis. As Sciacca does not have UBER, we were rather confused with regards to what taxi service we might use. However the hotel really helped us and guided us with giving us directions and contacts to local taxi services. When we arrived, it seemed that we did not have enough towels for our 3 people bedroom, and the host was very helpful and let us know via whatsapp that the staff will give us fresh towels in the morning. And so they did :) The hotel is a self-check in service hotel, and the host makes the process very straight forward and explains everything through whatsapp. We had no problem checking in. A copy of identification of each guest is requested for check in purposes. The breakfast wasn't too broad, but it had everything we needed for our 3 night stay.Juices, water, freshly made coffees/cappuccinos/lattes/espressos, bread, toaster, hams/salami, cheese. Yoghurts, nuts, condiments (strawberry jam, apricot jam, honey, nutella), EXTREMELY fresh and delicious Italian traditional pastries (croissants etc.). Boiled eggs, mozzarella, tomatoes. We were satisfied with the breakfast :) With regards to our rooms - we had two rooms booked for our family -the double room was lovely and ac worked well. The triple room's ac was a bit weaker than the one in the double room, as the cold air emitted was blocked by a wooden shelf. But when sleeping at night, you could still feel chilly and comfortable. The shower in the triple room was rather small, and compact, but nothing too worrying. We were well served.

This is a wonderful property just steps from anything you would want to do in Sciacca. The beautiful historic building only shows its age in the beautiful rustic courtyard or the ancient exposed stone in the chapel-like breakfast room. we booked two rooms both of which were modern, renovated, and spotless with charming exposed wood beams on the third floor ceiling. The common spaces too (hallways, check in area, breakfast room) are similarly spotless and modern with perfectly blended accents that remind you of the history of the ancient city you are touring. The staff and owner (Caterina) were absolutely fantastic and accommodating. Always just a phone call (or WhatsApp) away, they offered wonderful dinner suggestions, (Cola Pesce was our choice for dinner—it was delicious) and made our stay stress free and memorable. Breakfast was quintessentially Italian with a selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, fresh juices, fresh fruit, and jams with freshly made to order coffee to accompany. They also had self-serve espresso machine 24 hours a day, as well as an enotecca which we didn’t utilize but believe offers a selection of wines until midnight in an intimate, grotto-like outdoor lounge. Well worth far more money than we paid. We came away with a wonderful experience and feeling like we got a great deal.

The hotel is very nice, lot of pretty details, ideal for solo travel or with partner/family. I really loved the environment and the hotel surroundings. The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast really good. Next time I would definitely go for this hotel again. Close to the city center yet quiet.
